Start Date:
Mar 15, 2021Duration: 8 weeks
I will go on a run after making my bed each morning at 6:00am. I will aim to run for 20 mins a day, but I accept that on tough days, I will at least get outside and walk around the block.
I am rising to thrive in support of those of us who struggle to survive. Life has its many challenges, but it is not a challenge that we individually need to face alone. I rise to show that others are not alone in the challenges they face. I chose this habit because the idea of Rise to Thrive began with my lack of motivation to wake up in the morning and have a routine that was beneficial and meaningful to myself. As soon as the first idea of Rise to Thrive was written down on paper at the start of the pandemic, it motivated myself to wake up at 5:30 am with the sunrise and go for a run each day - it was the best way to start the day. Now that the weather is clearing again, it's the perfect time to get back in the habit of going for a run in the morn.
Hey R2T Community! It's been a difficult week for me, but I've been trying my best to stay in the rhythm with my habit. I've been overwhelmed with school, and it's still getting the best of me, but I'd like to share that I'm fighting hard to get through it. Getting outdoors in the morning is still the most motivating things that I'm doing, even if it's just for a walk around the block. I've got a lot of work to do to improve my resilience in these stressful times, but we're all here to support each other in these times!
😕 - Feeling sadI didn't get the chance to do my habit today... I went to bed late last night, and had to wake up and get to work. I'll be sure to get a good run in tomorrow though! Consistency is key, so maybe I need to think about editing my implementation intention to ensure that this doesn't happen anymore. I'm happy that I can be honest about it though! Celebrate the wins, own up to the set backs :)
😕 - Feeling sadToday was the best day so far! My roommates David and Shiv joined me for a run this morning at 6:15 am (an hour BEFORE the sunrise) and we killed it! We ran a good 4k and it felt amazing to do so, can't wait for tmr!
🥳 - Feeling accomplishedThis morning was an alright run, I ran 10 mins instead my goal of 20.
😄 - Feeling happyI've made some progress on day 2! I was able to go to bed at a reasonable hour last night, making it easier to wake up and get myself outside. I'm still not hitting my target time, but I'll get to it soon :)

😄 - Feeling happyMy first day started off great, but there's lots to improve on... I woke up at 8 even if my alarms went off at 5:30. This is mostly due to the fact that my sleep schedule is still delayed and I didn't fall asleep until 1am. In order to get into a solid routine, I've got to manage my night routine a little better tonight. I'm going to place my phone outside of my room at 11pm tonight. Let's test it out and hope it helps!
